Remarriage Fashion

It is your chance to do everything again. This time around do what you wanted to do the first time, but didn’t or couldn’t. Not sure about what to wear? Well, everything depends on the time of day, the location, the theme of your event and your figure. Even though you can wear what you want, keep in mind that certain styles are reserved for first time brides, like a longer veil, or big bows and long trains. Sheer sleeves are good if you are concerned about your arms, but they are a good cover up, and are still a pretty design for a gown. You want to consider simple and classic cut shapes and lines that compliment your figure. Lace accents are also very pretty, which give gowns a nice embellished look. V-Necklines and sheaths look good if you have a nice figure, but don’t want to be too revealing. These styles cover up yet still reveal your curves. Accent with color, or wear soft or pastel shades that compliment your skin tone. If you want white, go ahead, it’s your chance to have your dream wedding. If it is a more intimate event, Tea-length styles are also a good length to consider, as they are comfortable, carefree and easier to move around in. Less ornamental with better quality silks and silk satins are a more popular choice for brides getting married again. Accessorize with a short, sheer veil, or just a tiara or hair pins that complete your look. But remember to be yourself, pick a style that suits your personality. For attendants, you can have them pick their own style; you pick the color, or be traditional and have it all the same by choosing the perfect gown and color.

Children

Be prepared to blend households as well as families. Your child (children) will have a new stepparent; they should be the first to know about your union. Involve them in your ceremony as best men, maids of honor, bride’s maids, ushers, flower girls, ring bearers, or organizers. A few other ideas are singing during the ceremony, or lighting a unity candle together as a family. If you are involving your children, don’t assume that they would want to be a part of the wedding, that is why you should ask them if they are interested in being involved, but never push. Some children might have issues with their parent re-marrying, so it is a good idea to let them have a big part in the wedding so they can feel a sense of importance. Another suggestion is to make wedding programs which detail who your families are and their roles in the wedding. Start new memories with a new beginning.

Event Style

So, you’re getting married again, Congratulations! This time, have the wedding of your dreams, you are getting another chance, make it memorable. Combine tradition and your own personal flair by creatively bringing the two together. Not formal enough the first time, go all out by having a big formal ball. Want a more intimate event, go ahead, make it fun with close friends and family in a backyard BBQ or something small by the beach. What’s your entertainment? A band or DJ; a full orchestra or a quartet? For a backyard BBQ, make a tape of your favorite songs. Just remember to have fun, relax and enjoy every moment.
